Donald Trump called Rick Perry a “terrific guy” after Perry announced he was dropping his White House bid.

.@GovernorPerry is a terrific guy and I wish him well- I know he will have a great future!

Trump and Perry had a contentious relationship on the campaign trail.

The billionaire businessman remarked that Perry should have been forced to take an IQ test before the first GOP primary debate.

Perry, for his part, called Trump a “toxic mix” and compared the real estate mogul to cancer.

Trump predicted that Perry would exit the race earlier this month, saying Perry’s efforts to attack him had backfired.

“Perry attacked me; now he’s getting out of the race,” Trump said. “He was at 4 or 5 percent, now he’s getting out of the race, he was at zero.”

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who is also running for the Republican presidential nomination, called out Trump for wishing Perry well after relentlessly attacking him.

.@realDonaldTrump Attacked him one day. Praised him today. Sounding like a typical politician. Rick is a better man than you'll ever be.

Jindal, who like Perry is far behind Trump in the polls, has been lobbing insults at the business mogul this week. Trump responded by calling Jindal a “lightweight.”
