Could 2016 hold a Trump/Trump ticket? Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is jesting that he may pick his daughter Ivanka as his VP if he wins the nomination.

“I’m thinking about making Ivanka vice president,” Trump said during a Wednesday morning interview on “Live with Kelly & Michael.” The business tycoon quickly added with a smile, “I’m kidding, I’m kidding.”

“Ivanka just dropped the phone,” host Kelly Ripa replied.

Trump’s 34-year-old daughter, an executive vice president at The Trump Organization who’s currently pregnant with her third child to husband Jared Kushner, has been a regular presence on the campaign trail with her dad.

“I have to say I’m kidding because the press will then go with it: ‘Trump wants to make Ivanka vice president.’ They’ll make a big deal.

“When I say vice president, I’m kidding, folks. I’m kidding,” the 69-year-old dad-of-five told Ripa and co-host Michael Strahan.

Trump then added, “Although she would be good, I will say.”

Earlier in the sit-down, Trump remained tight-lipped when asked who might make the cut as his running mate. “I like some of the people onstage with me, and I like a lot of the Republicans generally,” he said.

“I don’t think too much about the vice presidency for one very simple reason,” Trump continued, “I want to win first.”
